BIV Membership
1. Individual membership ($50):
As the name suggests, a single membership can be bought for $50.
2. Family membership ($100):
- Family is defined as: 2 adults and children. They don’t need to be related to each other. For example: 2 adults can register themselves as a “Family” along with their niece and nephew.
- A child is defined as: anyone who is less than 18 years old.
As children get free entry/membership, it doesn’t matter how many children a family has.
If a household has more than 2 adults, they can get a family membership for 2 adults and individual membership for the remaining adults. In terms of value, it makes no difference as it’s $50 for each adult. The term “Family membership” is a mode of membership by way of which children get free membership.
3. Senior and Student membership ($40):
People aged 60 and above and Students gets the membership for $40.
For senior members, they need to provide a government ID to prove their age. Students need to provide a copy of their School/University ID card which clearly shows when their student status ends.
BIV will keep a soft copy of these documents.

- Complimentary Food during Annual General Meeting (AGM).
- Voting rights in AGM.
- Member only Job guide and adda sessions.

- Ability to be part of the Volunteer group and Executive Committee.
- Direct access to the Executive Committee and Board Members for any inputs & Feedback.
- Membership duration is for a calendar year – 1st January to 31st December.
- Membership Fee will be prorated based on the time of the year the membership is availed and the number days remaining in the calendar year.
Process to Register for Annual Membership
- Simply e-transfer the membership amount as applicable (mentioned above against each category) to Bengalis.in.vancouver@
gmail.com. - During e-transfer mention your full name , the transfer reason as Membership fee, the Category (applicable as above) and contact number.
- Our team will reconcile and respond back in few weeks with the membership confirmation.
Annual Membership is now Prorated
We’re excited to announce that our Annual Membership Fee for the year 2024 is now prorated. Becoming a member not only connects you with a vibrant community but also provides access to a myriad of cultural events and celebrations throughout the year.
Here’s a breakdown of our prorated membership fees till Oct, 4th 2024:
- Family: $40
- Individual: $20
- Student/Senior: $16
